We are pleased to bring you a powerful and cool new feature ‘Flash‘, a microblog that allows you to broadcast micro posts and messages to your network either to be viewed by any one or by a restricted group that can be chosen by the user. We believe this feature is a great value add to the user for it’s immediacy , near real time data and simplicity.

The moment you log in to your network in injoos , you will notice this change with an area carved out for micro posts. Here’s what you can do with the new feature “Microblog – Flash”

• Flash  messages to all the network users, get quick responses to short questions. A two way communication lets you post replies and automatically bring replies of the posts to attention resulting in collaborative conversations
• Post the Flash messages as news , discussions or events and share with groups or subgroups from a single place without having to switch between network, group or subgroups.
• Share variety of things, fun and frivolous to serious stuff as videos, photos, events etc with your network users
• Microblog at all levels – Flash your information to your Network, Group and subgroup
• Flash allows you to reply , comment, share, rate and take other actions directly on the activity feeds from your groups, directly from the microblog interface.
• Add a filter to your flashes - Create user lists of people you want to follow and filter the content by user lists.

Additional features included in this release 5.0 :

Notifications and alerts - with clear call to action is now displayed on the right side of notification bar . An Action center has also been added to the My Cabinet section of the product which can be used to access all the pending notifications.

People directory – Gives a view of  people in your network. User List section of the people directory allows any user to create lists of users he/she wants to follow. The user lists can be used to filter the activity feeds content.

Most of the micro blogging apps released in the recent times like Yammer and Co-tweet are essentially a clone of Twitter which supports closed group of business users. We found that what would be more useful is to have the micro blogging tool essentially as part of the complete Social Intranet for an organization. So you could share short snippets of information as News, Event or discussion with your colleagues with one single simple interface. Strange as the title may seem, I really want you to wake up Sid ! I just cant believe that You are not there anymore. I want you to wake up as the turn of events over the last couple of days has been cruel to say the least and unjustified. Why you?

I write this piece in memory of a dear friend, a customer, an ardent supporter and more importantly a very good human being. Siddhartha Padam, Sid to me and a lot of us, was sadly killed in a fire accident in Bangalore on 23-Feb while he was at work. He along with 2 of his colleagues was snuffed out by a fire that engulfed the Carlton Towers where his office was located.

My association with Sid started when I joined the Corporate Planning team in Infosys. I always found him to be interesting, full of life and ever smiling. I have learnt a lot from him while we have had numerous coffees, lunches and drinks together. We quit Infosys in 2007 to go our own ways, to explore the world and to seek our destiny. I set up Injoos and Sid started the Chesapeake operations in India. Our association continued as I always looked at Sid as a trusted advisor and have sought his opinion on my business very often. He was quick to point out things and give me feedback on what I should be doing. He also whole heartedly embraced the product we were building - Injoos teamware - and started using it in his organization. He has been a tremendous customer who has stood by us and given us invaluable feedback.

It just doesnt seem right that he is not there anymore. Not because I wont get advice or feedback, but because he did not deserve to leave us this soon and all of us deserved more of him. I sat with him on 18-Jan to videotape his testimonial for Injoos and I still cant believe that a month later, he is not there to see it. It all seems like a game, a cruel Game that god plays with all of us. He takes away good people, people who have made a difference to a lot of fellow human beings. I am overcome by emotions that I cannot describe - sadness, anger, frustration, helplessness…………

I have no words to describe this loss or to offer comforting words to his family. All I can say is my heart goes out to the family and I pray to God to give the family the courage to bear his loss.

Me, my family and my colleagues are with you in this hour of need.

Is it the system that is responsible or is it pure destiny? I dont know the answers but I definitely know that I have lost a very good friend and I once again say, Please Wake up Sid !

We just did a minor upgrade to the platform to bring you more exciting features to enhance your productivity. The library has been enhanced to give you the ability to drag and drop files and folders. Just grab the file or folder that you would like to move and drop them into the target folder. There is an option to either copy or move the files or folders.

The bookmarklets have been enhanced to allow you to directly get some description for an article you are posting. Just mark the text on the website you are reading and invoke the bookmarklet to post the article into Injoos with the marked teaxt appearing as a short description for the article. You can also tag the article by putting a # before the text to be used as Tag. This can be done in the bookmarklet as well as when creating a news or discussion inside Injoos.

We have also introduced the ability to delete news, discussion and discussion replies. This is available to the creator of the content.
